Overview
The TRVL lx and Butterfly 2 Plus both use a built-in newborn setup and all-wheel suspension rather than the smallest possible cabin fold. Both are positioned for comfort over compactness.
Fold and portability
Folded, the TRVL lx measures 14.3 × 21 × 27 in - one of the largest folds in this shortlist - while the Butterfly 2 Plus folds noticeably thinner at 17.6 × 9.6 × 21.8 in despite a similar overall size.
Comfort and ride
The Butterfly 2 Plus's recline runs the full range from flat to upright, and it has a confirmed 17.6 lb basket. The TRVL lx's basket capacity wasn't confirmed in its current US listing, though its front-and-rear suspension is built specifically for uneven ground.
Newborn use
Use carriage mode for newborns as instructed in the manual. The Butterfly 2 Plus needs no separate accessory either: From-birth use with the fully reclining seat and built-in newborn foot cover; no separate accessory required.
Price
The TRVL lx is the pricier of the two at around $600, versus around $579 for the Butterfly 2 Plus.
Which one should you buy?
Choose the Nuna TRVL lx if front-and-rear suspension for rough terrain is your priority.
Choose the Bugaboo Butterfly 2 Plus if you want a thinner fold, a confirmed larger basket and a lower price.
